Our office is open to personal callers Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.  During out of office hours we have an answerphone to ensure your call can be logged and dealt with quickly. Unless otherwise stated, please telephone, fax or email enquires to the office above.

Active Ageing

Carers Access to Health
The Carers Access to Health Project supports people who have a caring role, to attend health related appointments. The carer or the cared for must be over 65 years. The service can provide a sitting service whilst the carer attends an appointment and can assist the carer and/or cared for to attend appointments. This service is provided free of charge. For more information contact the Project Team Leader on 01257 479014.

Community Links Scheme
Our volunteers offer short term support such as home visiting with a view to helping older people re-engage with the local community, and offer practical support where necessary. Contact the co-ordinator on 01282 477555.

Community Support, Leisure and Social Activities
Our Development Officer works to identify what is needed in local neighbourhoods and looks at ways of setting up services and activities to meet these needs.  We provide a wide range of social, leisure and educational opportunities across Pendle. 
 
Charity Shops
Our Charity Shop located at 1 Market Street (Tel:  01282 696650), which offers a wide range of quality, nearly new clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac. Using our shops gives you the opportunity to find a bargain whilst helping generate income and recycle your old unwanted items by donating them to the shop.

Day Care Services
We offer a service for frailer older people who need support in order to remain living independently. Our services are based on individual needs and are available following an assessment by Social Services. If you feel this service may be applicable to you or some one you care for please contact the Area Manager on 01282 677950.

Eastern Lives
Eastern Lives aims to promote the health and wellbeing of our Asian Heritage older people by organizing physical activities, healthy eating sessions and various taster events within the community.

Hospital Aftercare Scheme - Crisis Support
This service provides support to East Lancashire residents aged 60 or over who have attended an Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre and been discharged home. Our staff provide an information service and/or practical support in the home for up to seven days. Hospital Aftercare Scheme - Rehabilitation
Our team of staff offer practical support in the home following discharge from a hospital ward. People must be aged 60 or above and finding it difficult to resume their activities of daily living. Support can be planned for up to 8 weeks. Contact the Co-ordinator on 01282 477554.

Information and Advice
We provide information and advice to older people and their carers on a variety of issues including welfare benefits, getting help with housing issues, residential and nursing care, consumer problems etc. Surgeries are held in the office on Tuesdays mornings and home visits are available in some circumstances. Pendles Seniors Group, supported by Age Concern Lancashire is an important means of advising agencies and organisations, such as the District and County Councils, on issues that are important to older people.
