Ageing Well
With a focus on healthy living and active ageing, our Ageing Well  Resource Centre at 21 Daneshouse Road, tel: 01282 413372 or email: daneshouse@ageconcernlancs.org.uk is based in the heart of the minority ethnic community and provides a drop-in facility for information and advice. The centre also provides activities for both male and female older Asian people and their carers.

Ashiana
This is a culturally sensitive day care service supporting older women from the Asian community. The centre opens each Thursday and is based at 21 Daneshouse Road, Burnley. For more information, please contact the Area Manager on 01282 477557.

Burnley Community Garden
A range of garden and health related activities are available to older people in the Howard Street area of Burnley.

Carers Access to Health
The Carers Access to Health Project supports people who have a caring role to attend health related appointments. The carer or the cared for must be over 65 years. The service can provide a sitting service whilst the carer attends an appointment and can assist the carer and/or cared for to attend appointments. This service is provided free of charge and is delivered in partnership with and funded by Lancashire County Council. For more information contact the Project Team Leader on 01257 479014.

Community Links Scheme
Our volunteers offer short term support such as a home visitor with a view to helping older people re-engage with the local community, and offer practical support where necessary.

Day Care Services
We offer a service for frailer older people who need support in order to remain living independently. Our services are based on individual needs and are available following an assessment by Adult and Community Services. If you feel this service may be applicable to you or some one you care for please contact the Area Manager on 01282 477557.

Eastern Lives
Eastern Lives aims to promote the health and wellbeing of our Asian Heritage older people by organising physical activities, healthy eating sessions and various taster events within the community. For further information please contact the Co-ordinator on 01282 839870.

Hospital Aftercare Scheme - Crisis Support
This service provides support to East Lancashire residents aged 60 or over who have attended an Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre and been discharged home. Our staff provide an information service and/or practical support in the home for up to seven days. Hospital Aftercare Scheme - Rehabilitation
Our team of staff offer practical support in the home following discharge from a hospital ward. People must be aged 60 or above and finding it difficult to resume their activities of daily living. Support can be planned for up to 8 weeks.
 
Information and Advice
Our staff and volunteers are trained to provide information and advice on a range of topics and to give up to date fact sheets or signpost to a more relevant agency. Our Community Information Officer is available for more complex queries and can arrange to meet you to discuss any queries or to help with form filling - something that is daunting for many people.

Age Concern Enterprises offers a range of products and services designed with the needs of the over 50's in mind.

Older Peoples Forum
Established and supported by Age Concern Lancashire, the Burnley Older Peoples Forum is an important means of advising agencies and organisations, such as the District and County Councils, on issues that are important to older people for more information telephone 01282 477559.
