Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 4.00. During out of office hours we have an answerphone to ensure your call can be logged and dealt with quickly.

Active Ageing - Skelmersdale
This project aims to work closely with older people in Skelmersdale to set up activities and social groups that are based on health improvement, education and leisure. Our office is within the Ecumenical Centre in Skelmersdale and to find out more either call in or ring the Development Officer on 01695 720406 or email skelmersdale@ageconcernlancs.org.uk for more information.

Charity Shop
Our Charity Shop located at 28, Burscough Street, Ormskirk, Lancashire L39 2ES (tel: 01695 581020) which offers a wide range of quality, nearly new clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac. Using our shops gives you the opportunity to find a bargain whilst helping generate income and recycle your old unwanted items by donating them to the shop.

Day Care Services
We offer a service for frailer older people who need support in order to remain living independently. Our services are based on individual needs and are available following an assessment by Social Services. If you feel this service may be applicable to you or some one you care for please contact the Area Manager on 01695 571522.

Flexible Outreach Service
This service enables individuals in the West Lancashire area with early stage memory problems to maintain or re-develop daily living skills, have opportunities to be involved in educational, leisure or creative activities and be supported in maintaining or developing contacts in their local community. Trained staff provide an individualised home visiting service.

Foot Care Service
This is a partnership project between the NHS Podiatry Service and Age Concern Lancashire. The scheme provides a nail clipping service carried out in the clients own home, advice on how to improve and maintain general foot hygiene and a reassuring check to make sure there are no potential foot care problems.

 Health Trainer
This service promotes and supports older people to have a healthier lifestyle. Our Health Trainers will offer practical support and encouragement to older people to change their lifestyles and improve their wellbeing through an agreed programme of support and activities taking place in the local communities.

Hospital Aftercare Service
Our team of staff offer practical support in the home following discharge from a hospital ward. People must be aged 65 or above and find it difficult to resume their activities of daily living. Support can be planned for up to 8 weeks.

Help Direct
Help Direct is a new service being developed for all adults in Lancashire. Help Direct will aim to be your first port of call to get the right practical support, guidance and/or information you need to get the most out of life. You can call the low call phone number or drop in to speak to someone face to face. Your local Help Direct Team will help you find the right way forward – one that works for you. Home Help Service
The new Home Help Service is available to all people aged 50 and over living in the West Lancashire area. Home Helps are able to carry out a variety of tasks including general cleaning, laundry and run local errands such as posting letters. The service offers flexibility and choice, high standards and is competitively priced. If you would like further information then please contact the Service Co-ordinator Caroline on 01257 233200.

Our staff and volunteers are trained to provide information on a range of topics and to give up to date fact sheets or signpost to a more relevant agency.

Age Concern Enterprises offers a range of products and services designed with the needs of the over 50's in mind.

Luncheon/Activity Club
Our luncheon and activity club  at the West Lancashire Well Being Centre provide a focus for older people to meet, enjoy a nutritional lunch and engage in a variety of activities such as aerobics, gentle exercise, arts and crafts, coffee morning, line dancing, tea dances, trips and healthy living events.

Rural Day Clubs
Our luncheon and activity clubs provide a focus for older people to meet, enjoy a nutritional lunch and engage in a variety of activities.  The Scarisbrick, Hesketh Bank, Burscough, Appley Bridge, Parbold, Upholland and Haskayne Clubs meet on either a weekly or fortnightly basis to provide good nutritious food and great company.

West Lancashire Environmental Project
Focussing on the Banks area of West Lancashire, this project provides regular Exercise, Crafts and Computer Classes as well as trips out for the local community.

West Lancashire Older Peoples Forum
Supported by Age Concern Lancashire, the West Lancashire OIder Peoples Forum is an important means of letting agencies such as the District and County Councils and Social Services know what is important for older people.
